monthly family meal plan - march week #3
headed into week #3 of more, please monthly family meal plan!
welcome to week 3 of our monthly family meal plan!! what did you guys think of week #1 and week #2?! i am obsessed with seeing your photos and videos of you guys making my recipes!!! truly brings me such joy to see you and your family eating the food we love so much so keep it coming and tag me on Instagram.
for a little refresh - let’s chat quickly over what we are doing here with our monthly family meal plans:
here’s how this works:
every a month you will receive 24 recipe ideas total from me. for each week you have 1 breakfast, 2 meal prep-friendly lunches, 2 dinners and 1 snack/dessert to make (if you so choose). basically a major extension of my weekly newsletter i send out on sundays. we can do more recipes if needed but let’s start here and see how it goes?!
you will get one email with the full calendar on the wednesday before the next month plus a monthly grocery list.
then every friday you will receive the recipe ideas for the following week with any swaps/sub ideas, tips to meal prep if you want and a very detailed grocery list for the week.
these lunch/dinner recipes are typically 4 servings per recipe. if you are feeding 4+ people or want enough for the next day and would like to double the recipe, go for it. plus no one was ever angry if there were leftovers in the freezer. especially for dishes like my roasted veggie butternut squash soup or my gluten-free bagels with protein.
i chose to do only 2 lunches and 2 dinner ideas as i thought it was less overwhelming for us to start with. i also love doubling a recipe to make enough for leftovers so i don’t have to cook everyday. if you guys want more ideas for each week, lmk and we can make it happen.
these recipes are not all to be meal prepped. some can be somewhat prepped like the ground chili meat for my sweet potato nachos (then assemble before eating) or maybe you chop up veggies for the week to make it easier when you cook. but don’t feel the need to do a full meal prep every sunday. the only meals i usually prep are lunches to make it more efficient during the week. but for the most part, i like to meal plan over meal prep.
you will receive a grocery list here for each recipe so you know what you need to shop for. print the list or add it to your system to make it work
i also designed the monthly meal plan with similar ingredients in mind. you’ll notice 2 recipes with sweet potatoes this month so you can stock up when you go to the store. or that we use cheddar cheese in a few dishes. there is nothing worse than wasting leftover ingredients or using half a jar of pasta and not knowing what to do with the rest.
you’ll notice tips on how i feed a recipe to my husband and i versus my kids. yes, we all eat similarly for dinner. but it’s not always served the same exact way. if we make my ginger scallion turkey burgers, i love that over a chopped salad scooped up with chips. while my kids love a bun. make it work for everyone.
there are swaps for many of the recipes you’ll see listed in each weekly menu.don’t love beef in my chili sweet potato nachos? use ground turkey, chicken or bison! don’t feel like spending $$$ on strawberries for my strawberry cheesecake overnight oats? sub another berry!
P.S. our monthly family meal plans are 96 cents PER week if you do the $50 per year option!
