we switch up meals but here are my TOP favorites to prep for the week basically every week or at least 2x month
you guys know i’m not a full blown “meal prep girl”. yes - i prep a few things here and there, but when you open my fridge it’s not one of those labeled tupperware fridges with every single meal for the week. instead of meal prepping a bunch of meals like chilis, pastas and things, i do a MIX of food prepping and meal planning.
there are things i know my family and i want to have to eat weekly and these are separate from our more formalized “meals”. think things like hard boiled eggs in the fridge, carrots already prepped and ready, berries washed and in containers, the gluten-free bagels and bread that live in my freezer and more.
you know i do my weekly meal plans that have the breakfast, lunches and dinners ideas but this is separate. beauty of this approach is this kind of prep is maybe an hour (1 item actually requires an oven). i’m like a robot in the kitchen at this point. i take an hour of my sunday or sometimes monday morning and just crank it out. it not only makes lunch box packing easier, but it prevents the whole “ugh i am hungry but idk what to eat or snack on” convo from happening
